Foodscapes

The British photographer, Carl Warner, created a series of landscape images utilizing basic food ingredients found in a typical kitchen. The images 'Foodscapes' show scenes including caverns, submarines, forests, beaches, etc using fruits, legumes, cheeses, pastas, bread among others.

GONE FISHING

This seascape was created using only sustainable fish including oysters, scallops and crabs. Mackerel and herrings were used for the sea itself, and pollock and sprats for the banks. Thyme stands in for trees, while the boat is a marrow with a mangetout mast.

MUSHROOM PLANET

Several types of grains and mushrooms

COUNTRY CHARM

In this mountain scene, bread sticks and cured ham slices are transformed into a carriage to be pushed down a path made of salami, bordered by trees made of bacon.

RAINBOW PLATE

This plate makes the perfect rainbow behind a forest made of legumes and potatoes.

A FOREST OF GREENS

The Forest of Dean or The Forest of Greens? The road is paved with cumin; peas hang from brocolli trees and cauliflower clouds adorn the sky with bread for mountain.

ITALIAN VILLAGE

Edible ingredients in this Italian inspired rural scene include a lasagna cart, fields of pasta, a pine nut wall, mozzarella clouds, trees of peppers and chillies and a parmesan village.

STORMY SEA

A boat made of watermelon, peas, olives and asparagus is tossed on a tempestuous sea of radicchio salad.

VEGE CAVERN

The cavern is made with fruits of the sea. The 'rocks' are made of bread but, the ones on the bottom of the sea are cauliflower. To give the dimension of depth, the landscape is on a 3x3 foot table.

SEA CLIFF

This one is made from lettuce leaves; rocks of sweet and red potatoes; canyon walls made of bread; and the sky of red cabbage..

VEGETABLE MARKET

Houses made of cheese; crates and baskets made of various pastas. The street is made of legumes and grains

ITALIAN KITCHEN

This Italian kitchen has many vegetables and pastas. The houses seen through the window are made of cheese

BREAD MOUNTAIN

At first sight, it's hard to notice that the mountains are made of bread...

FRUITY BALLOONS

The creativity is impressive. Balloons made of fruit and legumes, trees of brocolli, rocks of potatoes, fields of corn and peppers and a town made of cheese with a carrot tower.

MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPES

In this scene, the main components are: ham for the sky, mountains and rivers; bread for rocks, breadsticks for the house and salami for its roof

SALMON SEAS

This reddish sea on this beach scene at sunset is made up of salmon fillets. The rocks are made of potatoes and bread and the small boat made of a green pea pod completes the scene.
